The Imperial Starighter Corps of our great Imperial Navy is comprised of the greatest pilots of our generation; all committed patriots that have endured the most gruelling challenges within the halls of our most prestigious academies. These academies include:
- Skystrike Academy - The academy renowned for producing the greatest TIE fighter pilots in the galaxy
- Carida Academy - The academy known to train their pilots in a variety of ways, such as in underwater combat
- Defiance Flight Training Institute - A craft at the forefront of Imperial Naval training, taking cadets to the far reaches of space
As a member of the Starfighter Corps, you will be trained to operate one, or several, of a great plethora of state of the art TIE-line starfighters, which are ever improving and further specializing to ensure our navy remains at the forefront of technological advancements. The following are some of the greatest and most numerous TIE starfighters we utilize at the Imperial Navy, swarming and outmaneuvering our enemies and seizing victory in the skies.
TIE/ln space superiority starfighter
Also known simply as the "TIE fighter" and deployed across the entire galaxy, this starfighter is the most common in the Imperial Navy and creates the backbone of every naval battle. Deployed in their thousands during combat, the TIE fighter is designed to swarm and overwhelm their opponents.
Despite being comparatively cheaper and less "safe" than the crafts utilized by large insurgent groups, our pilots are so well trained that they manage to combat superior forces and come out on top regardless!
Experimental and Prototype TIEs
The TIE Advanced v1 is an experimental TIE fighter variant that was fitted with basic shielding and additional armor plating on the wings. As well as this, its chin mounted laser cannons are superior to that of a regular TIE's, making it a formidable foe in the air.
The TIE/d "Defender" Multi-Role Starfighter is an advanced experimental TIE fighter variant, possessing a hyperdrive and deflector shields. Though significantly more costly, it is far more resilient than normal TIE fighters and, if it sees mass-production, it would change naval doctrine intensely.
Craft Variants
The ships used in the Imperial Starfighter Corps fall under one of four categories;
- Starfighters - The backbone of the Starfighter Corps (hence its name) that are designed for swarming and dogfighting other starfighters, able to perform patrols and escort larger ships.
- Interceptors - Specialized ships designed to eliminate key targets and intercept enemy ships.
- Heavy Starfighters and Bombers - Ships designed to cause large-scale destruction through heavy weaponry.
- Large Craft - Larger outliers to the other crafts that perform specific roles within warfare.
TIE Fighter Pilot Armor
TIE pilots are given self-contained, insulated flight suits with a reinforced helmet and life support pack. Said helmet possesses ship-linked displays and communications with other ships and starfighters. They were also often granted E-11 blasters or pistols. Though they are given these luxuries, pilots are so fiercely loyal to the new order that they are willing to sacrifice themselves and have a life expectancy of under a year.
